Castles Rally 2021

Saturday, September 4th

The 3rd edition of Castles Rally took place during the weekend of September 4th & 5th 2021 in the Pays de Loire and Centre Val de Loire regions.

During this event, participants had the opportunity to live an experience rich in discovery and adventure thanks to two car rallies on the roads of the castles of Sarthe and Loire Valley..

Departure

The appointment was given at the Domaine de la Pierre e in Coudrecieux in the Sarthe in the middle of the morning for a welcome coffee followed by a lunch in the former stables of the estate.

The vehicles were parked in front of the castle and in the adjacent park.

The 75 cars taking part on Saturday then set off for a first 2h15 tourist rally.

Stop

After having eaten, the participants travelled along the roads of the Sarthe region to the Château de Courtanvaux  in Bessé-sur-Braye on the edge of the Perche Sarthois.

A tasting of regional desserts and drinks was offered.

The participants were also able to visit this castle, handed down from generation to generation since the 14th century, before setting off again.

Arrival

The participants then took to the road for a second tourist rally of about 2 hours to reach Amboise.

The day ended at the Royal Castle of Amboise with a cocktail party with music, on the terraces overlooking the Loire at sunset followed by a gourmet meal served in one of the most beautiful rooms of the castle.

A fashion show featuring exceptional cars belonging to various partners and a fireworks display to the sound of the saxophone brought the evening to a close.

on Sunday, September 5th

On Sunday morning, a breakfast at the Royal Castle of Amboise started the second day.

Afterwards, the 80 GT & Supercars started a 90 km rally on the most beautiful roads of Touraine.

During this rally, the participants were able to admire the majestic Château de Chaumontsur-Loire, the Château Royal de Blois and the Château de Chambord before arriving at Château de Villesavin

If the Château de Villesavin is nicknamed "La Cabane de Chantier de Chambord", it is because it was built by Jean Le Breton, finance secretary to François 1st and governor of the Chambord works.

Under a radiant sun, the participants were able to enjoy a cocktail while taking in the view of the vehicles on display in the château's grounds.

They were then able to eat in the Orangery of the Château.

The participants then took to the road for a 1 hour and 20 minute tourist rally in the direction of the Château du Cheverny passing by the Château de Chambord, the Château de Veillenne and the Château de Fougères-sur-Bièvre  among others.

What more beautiful setting than the Château de Cheverny, from which HERGÉ drew inspiration for his Château de Moulinsart in Tintin's Adventures, to present the 80 cars, classified by make, around the château, which the public could admire for several hours.

Some participants were able to fly over the Cheverny and Chambord domains by helicopter.

A cocktail closed this event rich in automotive passion and sharing.
